Madrid, October, 2025 – Haxx, a leading multi-energy operator in the Spanish and Southern European markets, has obtained customs warehouse authorisation for its storage facility in Motril (DBA Motril Port). The authorisation has been granted by the Regional Customs and Excise Authority of Andalusia, part of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). This milestone makes the Motril facility the first within the Group to receive this status, further strengthening Haxx’s position as a benchmark in energy logistics.
With this new status, Haxx will be able to store goods originating from non-EU countries without the need for immediate customs clearance, allowing products to remain under a customs transit regime until their final destination. This customs arrangement, known as a “Type C customs warehouse”, is particularly advantageous for trading companies engaged in import and export activities, as it enables the deferral of customs duties and VAT until the goods are released onto the domestic market or re-exported.
A strategic milestone for Haxx and its clients
The granting of this authorisation represents a strategic milestone for the company, expanding its range of services for the benefit of both domestic and international clients. Thanks to this new status, DBA Motril Port will be able to offer more flexible, efficient and competitive storage solutions tailored to the specific needs of each operator.
According to Diego Guardamino, CEO of Haxx, “this authorisation reinforces our commitment to our clients. It allows us to provide more agile logistics management, adapted to the global context, and strengthens our ability to support international trade operations within the energy sector.”
From an operational perspective, the new status enhances cash flow management and logistics planning for companies importing hydrocarbons or other energy products from outside the European Union, as it enables them to hold inventory in Spain without incurring immediate tax obligations. In addition, this authorisation further consolidates Motril’s position as a strategic logistics hub in southern Spain, leveraging its port connectivity and modern storage and distribution infrastructure.
Innovation, compliance and operational excellence
Obtaining customs warehouse status not only strengthens Haxx’s competitiveness, but also reflects the company’s firm commitment to regulatory compliance and process digitalisation. The Group has implemented traceability and electronic accounting systems (SILICIE) required by the Spanish Tax Agency for the management of Excise Duties, and operates under strict control and security protocols that ensure the integrity and transparency of all operations.
At the same time, Haxx continues to advance its strategy focused on energy efficiency and resource optimisation, investing in technology and innovation across every stage of its value chain. This authorisation forms part of a broader process to strengthen its network of facilities and its role as a fully integrated energy partner.
The Motril facility, which already offered significant storage and distribution capacity for energy products, is now further consolidated as a key logistics node in the Mediterranean, complementing the company’s network of sites across the Iberian Peninsula. With this authorisation, Haxx reinforces its presence in southern Spain and expands its ability to provide logistics and customs solutions to clients operating in different markets.
